I grew up with my mom. But after a while, she has become a stranger to me. If I had the same view of her as I had as a child, I would say that I couldn't live without her. But this selfish, self centered, arrogant person she has become will be easy to live without.

Many persons have really great parents and don't realise their value until they hear about or meet someone else's parents.
But no matter how great your parents are. Your life continues after they are gone. It won't be easy at first but it gets easier with time. Especially if you have children of your own. Life must go on.

I agree. This is a matter of acceptance and letting go.Vivian Paschal wrote:I can live without them. They're not going to live forever and I know they wouldn't want to outlive me. But I really do not want to. It would be frustrating most of the time, I think, as annoying as they can be. Honestly, this is one topic I never want to think about. It really really bothers me.

My mom's passing was the loneliest experience of my life. But she will always be a happy memory in my heart.
Nowadays, I am the one caring for my dad. Not easy but I cannot imagine being anywhere else.

Bravo! Sacrificing of not seeing your parents and being away from their canopy is a sign of greatness. You will go a long way.Jaime Lync wrote:I just traveled out to do my bachelors and I'm living in a dorm on campus. I can't ask my parents to stop their lives and travel with me. I have to live without them but I sure will miss them.
