State Corruption

Post by Donnavila Marie01 »

Paco Roco in the story is a corrupt businessman and he also tried to influence his son, Godfredo and his best friend Max Burns. We always blame the State of corruption but as I was reflecting after reading the story, it dawned to me that private individuals initiate corruption. What do you say about corruption?

I agree with you. Corruption is a culture; culture is created by individuals.

I think the notion of a 'corrupt state' is pretty unfair. Even if there are corrupt people in power, generally the citizens aren't actually corrupt. There is usually huge resentment when a corrupt official is seen to be enriching himself at the cost of the citizens - one reason why I think the fall for Putin will be long and hard when it comes!

corruption or any form of illegality is always an individual decision. it has never been and will never be a collective decision. God, in his own worthy estimation, gave each human being the ability to make decisions of their own free will so the justification of collective responsibility is invalid when it comes to corruption.

I agree. The fall of most political leaders is corruption.

I feel corruption is underrated. It's not just politics that it's embedded in but most of our lives. And while we fight the obvious signs of corruption, they're not the ones that actually affect the world adversely.

Corruption is definitely initiated by an individual who then influences others on their thinking. Once they rise to such power, though, it becomes increasingly difficult to overcome the corruption, even if the majority has issue with those in power.

"State" typically refers to the government, not the citizens, so one is not saying the citizens are corrupt when they say the state is corrupt. I would agree that Putin's fall will be a rocky one for the citizens of Russia, as well as their government.

I agree that corruption starts with individuals. And it spreads far more diatances than just politics. The everyday work place has just as much corruption. Anf its not always for money. POWER is also a catalyst.

Corruption is like a never-ending curse. Once you steal a penny, you never stop until or unless it destroys you. One person starts this process and end up in chain of dozens and thousands of corrupt persons. Corruption is what is destroying our lives, our society and our states. But I believe, you'll have to pay for this sin sooner or later

Excellent way to express the domino effect of corruption.

I agree and that's why I think that we have to live a more conscious lifestyle. I believe that corruption starts at the spiritual level. We don't need to simply live a moral life but rather allow God to heal us from the inside out through the grace that comes through faith in Christ. I'm not preaching a mental belief gospel where you simply say, "hey, I believe Christ has pardoned me for all my corruption so I can continue in sin and just ask for grace later.' No, we ought to strive to live right but understand that it is God that gives us the desire and strength to truly live an uncorrupted lifestyle.
