I agree. The fall of most political leaders is corruption.CaitlynLynch wrote:I think the notion of a 'corrupt state' is pretty unfair. Even if there are corrupt people in power, generally the citizens aren't actually corrupt. There is usually huge resentment when a corrupt official is seen to be enriching himself at the cost of the citizens - one reason why I think the fall for Putin will be long and hard when it comes!

"State" typically refers to the government, not the citizens, so one is not saying the citizens are corrupt when they say the state is corrupt. I would agree that Putin's fall will be a rocky one for the citizens of Russia, as well as their government.

Ditto! It's like quick sand, once you start sinking, it's almost impossible to stopDarakhshan Nazir wrote:Corruption is like a never-ending curse. I agree and that's why I think that we have to live a more conscious lifestyle. I believe that corruption starts at the spiritual level. We don't need to simply live a moral life but rather allow God to heal us from the inside out through the grace that comes through faith in Christ. I'm not preaching a mental belief gospel where you simply say, "hey, I believe Christ has pardoned me for all my corruption so I can continue in sin and just ask for grace later.' No, we ought to strive to live right but understand that it is God that gives us the desire and strength to truly live an uncorrupted lifestyle.Gideon umunnakwe wrote:corruption is bad,but it something we all practice without realizing it.
