Make a choice: Your career or Love?

Post by Amagine »

In the book, we see the main character face a serious dilemma. Does he stay with the woman he loves or do he leave in order to further establish himself and his career?

If you had to make a choice, would you choose your career or love? Why? Have you ever had to made a choice like that? Do you regret it?

Since I'm happily married and totally smitten for my husband, there's no way I could choose my career over love. We've been together since I was 17 years old, and I wouldn't make any kind of career choice without thinking of him first.

I think career will come first, Love can wait and besides you can choose love only to be disappointed at the end. So definitely to me career first.

I'd definitely choose career right now, but I also believe there will come a point in my life when I will choose love. I like to think priorities should change over time, according to who we are.

I have to really love someone more than anything for me to choose them over my career.

I have to completely agree with @klbradley! These are my sentiments exactly! I'm coming up on 15 years on August 14th... Definitely choose my husband.

Love, as in forever love, is more important than career to me. Careers can eventually still be worked on, etc but it may take longer.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

I usually choose career when I have to eat. Now that I can pay for my bills, I will choose love.

Great question! At this point in my life, I'd have to choose love. I don't love my career all that much, but maybe my answer would be different if I did!
