Hello, my love by Evy Journey is a romantic novel set in San Francisco Bay area and Provence, France. This book greatly refers to the life of the author, her love for Jane Austen books and her life as an independent minded strong woman, this reflects in her novels which is accompanied by tales of romance, love and loss. From my understanding this novel particularly focuses on feminism as it is portrayed by the main Character Elise.

Elise is student of law at a university where his father is a professor, she’s an intelligent, serious and an independent young woman who doesn’t give much attention to men, Greg on the other hand is a rich handsome playboy who’s consulting with her father, and he is engaged to be married to Lori. Her father becomes the chance for their meeting, the first few months of their meeting, Elise shows indifference to Greg because she has an assumption that Greg is just a typical rich playboy known for his many conquests, Greg has something for Elise, something he’s never felt for anyone before and they gradually became friends with his effort, she without realizing also falls for Greg and then one night changes everything, an unfortunate incident follows and they are forced to stay apart.

This is not just a typical romance story where everything follows a sequence and assumptions are made on how the will go, I was surprised myself at the way the plot follows a twist, I felt deeply intrigued by the book just by reading a few pages and didn’t want to stop till the last page, this story is filled with mystery and twists with interesting characters and most of all a powerful message.

I think the author uses descriptions that are very well articulated that make the experiences come to life as one continues to enjoy reading; the book is well written and professionally edited, I did learn some new things from this book and I did not notice any error while reading. Evy used subtitles at the beginning of every chapter so that one would begin to get an insight of what the chapter is going to talk about, this made is easy for me as a reader to identify the present and the past and even not to get confused in the middle.

I rate Hello, my love 4 out of 4 stars, the reason being that I found this book very interesting, very easy to read and if you are looking for romance out of the ordinary then this is the book for you, I personally enjoyed reading this book, it is engaging and relatable and most of all romantic. You won’t be disappointed after reading it.
