The mix of first and third person is intriguing. I may have to give this a read to see how that works! Also, I can definitely see the missing feature descriptions for Penny being a deliberate style choice...again, very interesting!

Thanks for the review. It is great when a reviewer actually likes the book to read it twice and mention that fact in the review. I think that the book does sound like a roller coaster ride of emotions and thanks for the warning about the abuse.

Thanks for the enlightening review. Each novel such as this one has distinct characteristics that the main character is not well defined like racially or even physically. I really have to read the novel to know her as she is.

Wonderful and thoughtful review! This book really hits home for me. In fact, I thought someone had read my journals lol
Amazing how God will send a precious gift to fulfill your life. I was empty and felt like a failure when I was going thru my divorce. I am so blessed God gave me my baby girl to fill my life with love again.

It sounds fantastic. Lyrical writing in the right amount, and dine well can often eleveate a story and this sounds like it was employed tastefully.

I started reading a sample of the book and was immediately impressed at how poetic the prose was. After reading this review, I definitely think I will buy this book!

I was really surprised by your description of the storyline. It was catagorized as fantasy, which is not a genre that I enjoy at all. The book you describe is more about exploring feelings and family and bigger life issues, so I am totally in! You've convinced me this is a book worth reading. Great review.

Good review. This sounds like a beautiful story and a great read. The sample was great and I'm sure the full story is even better. Thanks!
