This is a fun to read book , with lots of yummy candy and chocolate which I didn't mind reading about . The story line was good but the writing really made the story pop for me . It was describitive in its details on the candy,characters, and even action. The songs were cute, and really made the story come along . I loved the characters, even though some you wanted to really discipline because obviously the parents didn't know how to parent correctly . Otherwise the story came with jumps and turns that made you want to keep reading for the big ending which was obvious but to children it's perfect and satisfying.

I remember reading this book for the first time in the third grade. Even now as an adult I still enjoy reading this book even though I know it by heart. Great classic!

I remember that the first time I've been interested to Dahl was through Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Let's just say that I now have a complete Dahl collection that I am very fond of.

I found Charlie and the Chocolate factory to be a fun and enchanting read. I also preferred to read the book then watch either of the movies, because you miss out on the magic of the book.

I recently re-read Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, when I was younger I found it difficult to read the book, as I would need to jump back and fourth to find out who said what, which made the whole experience rather dull. However, now I'm older and read this story to my own son I find it amazing. There is something totally amazing about re-reading a childhood favourite, so much that you miss as a child that you pick up on as an adult.

I think I'll always remember the scene of Charlie pulling his golden ticket. Its such an underdog story and so sweet since he deserves it so much.

I used to be obsessed with Roald Dahl as a child. Looking back, i realize just how twisted the books actually were. The book is whimsical and fun in it's own way, but it is also massively cruel including unusual punishments for children and painfully scared and scarred servants (aka oopma loompas). I still love the movies and even the book to this day, but it is an admittedly strange.

I think this' an outstanding book that goes right along with my love of all things sweet. I also used to watch the movie when it came on every year and even though a lot of people don't like the Johnny Depp version, I do very much.
