ALWAYS! Unless if I take my 2DS. BUT, I always enjoy having a good book with me, as I await the prodding and poking that I will be receiving.

The more people post on this thread, the happier I become about not having to wait in the doctor's office.
I don't even have to make an appointment -- I can just go straight in.

Always!! I am truly horrified when I realized I have forgotten to bring a book to the doctor's office. I really hate waiting, so I always try to bring something to entertain myself. Now I almost always have my kindle on it and I suppose waiting with my smartphone would be much easier than it was when I was an impatient teenager.

Sometimes. I do it less nowadays. It depends on what they have to offer in the waiting room and if I'm more in the mood to listen to music at that moment.

I haven't been in the doctor for ages now. Thankfully.
Seriously I haven't been there in like... 5 years.

Always!! They always seem to be late with the NHS.

Though I felt a little embarrassed taking Madness: A Bipolar Life to the psychiatrist the other day. I hid it under an envelope when I was in with him! I swear he thinks I'm a hypochondriac as it is!!

yes!!! :-) any appointments and I have a book handy (well I should say I have my kindle ready). it makes the time go by faster and if you are waiting for an interview, it helps you relax and put you in a good mood to leave a good impression with your interviewer :-)
so yes... definitely book in hand at any appointments :-)

Almost always have a book, and now have acquired a tablet. So there are a minimum of 3 books stored on the tablet, and I have a paperback also out of habit. Any visit to a doctor's office or the ER will almost involve time spent in a tiny room containing nothing of interest. It is also unlikely that I am in the mood to meditate in silence. Some sort of distraction would be helpful.

I always take a book to the doctor's surgery as well as the dentist's. All too often I've waited ages in both and reading simply fills in the time. Besides, it gives me an excuse to read during the daytime, which I don't otherwise have time to do!

Yes, but depending on the day, I may not get much read. My doctor and dentist are usually pretty good about not making me wait for too long, so the book's mostly there out of habit.

Yes! I feel disappointed in my self if I forget to bring book. I know that there will be many magazines, and sometimes I stumble upon a great article, but usually skimming makes me feel sort of aimless and I start to miss my book as it suddenly is a good time to read with out interruption!!

Most definitely I take a book most times to the doctor. I try to take books pretty much anywhere I'm going to have to wait for long periods of time.
