I was reading words out of the newspaper when I was two years old. I began reading books when I was 3.

The earliest I can remember for sure is kindergarten. I am sure that my mother worked with us before we started school, but I cannot remember for sure.

I was reading before 1st grade. Both my parents are bibliophiles and so it was no surprising that I started reading early. I was reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz when I was in 4th grade.

I learned to read when I was 2 mostly from a bossy family member, but some was self-taught.

I think maybe First Grade when I was six. I remember we had to do reading through an SRA (I think that is what it is) program. This is where you started out at a lower level of reading and as you finished each card and correctly answered questions you moved up to a higher level. When did I start to enjoy reading is another question. I think it was when I was in third grade where we could check out books from the school library. We did not have a public library in our area until I was about 10 years old. But I remember using the Bookmobile before that.

I was learning how to read when I was three with Biscuit. I hope those books are still around the house for when I have kids, they're wonderful.

I've been reading for such a long time it's hard to remember when I wasn't.
But I believe I started around age 4.
This mainly happened because my mother was reading to me since I was a baby and when I started learning words she would have be try to figure out the words in the books she read to me. It's funny watching her do the same thing with my younger sister.

I believe I was 6 or 7. When I first started learning to read I had a difficult time getting it. My oldest daughter (2) has already taken an interest in it so I anticipate her beginning to learn by the time she is 4.

I believe age 6 or 7. I remember really struggling at first, but as soon as I "got" it, I've been an avid reader. Must run in my family!

I learn to read at about 5 or 6. I'm not sure, but I think that's the age and I loved reading since then.
