Petra, a 14-year-old girl, struggles with insecurities about her appearance in comparison to her confident older sister. Concerned for her well-being, her parents encourage her to join the school's netball club, hoping it will boost her self-confidence and help her make friends.
As Petra's life begins to improve through her involvement in the club, she encounters Marvin, a mysterious 28-year-old man introduced by her teacher. Intrigued, Petra embarks on a transformative journey that challenges her perceptions and reshapes her entire existence.
Gloria Eveleigh skillfully delves into the haunting and widespread problem of sexual trafficking in her compelling novel. The intricately woven plot, well-developed characters, and unexpected twists create a sense of anticipation, making it difficult to stop reading.
