Cut yourself a break is a book on self compassion I like how many life stories were shared and how short and straightforward the book is. Congratulations on book of the day.

I like how the author reflects on the three pillars of self-compassion. It highlights just how much the decisions we make impacts the likely outcome of our experience. Mindfulness is a key component emphasized in the storyline. The author regards self-compassion as a way of relating to yourself.

This is definitely a better form of self-medication than pill-popping...and I see that a lot of research has gone into it as well.

Judging by the review of this book, this is interesting! Self-compassion? Compassion is often encouraged to show others but to oneself. This is the first time I'm seeing this idea. I would like to know how to cut myself a break, as the book puts it. Congratulations on the book of the day.

Self-compassion often sounds like self-pity, it's good that this book mentions that there is a difference. It's important to be kind to oneself. Kudo's for writing a book describing the tools to do this.

We are too hard on ourselves sometimes and we definitely need to learn how to be kind, to others and ourselves.

It's normal to expect compassion from other people. However, self-compassion is not such a bad thing. in the end, we just have to cut ourselves some break.

I think everyone out there, needs a copy of this book. Some individuals seriously need to put themselves into consideration and also forgive themselves. Indeed they are lots of things to be learned from this book. we should learn to be compassionate about ourselves. That is the only way our lives will be better and that is how we can move on from any past hurting us. Great review.

This is a great concept and a very good idea. We must all learn to be self compassionate about ourselves before we can be to others. Thank you for your review!

Self-help, motivational books are not my cup of tea but I've read the review and the book seems interesting and well researched with lots of stories and personal examples. I do agree that forgiving yourself and being kind to yourself are the key factors in being in harmony with yourself and the world around. I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I love the premise of this book and I loved the sample that I read. The story about the cracked pot watering the flowers was lovely. Congratulations to the author on BOTD!

Today's BOTD is one self-help book we should all read. From stories and personal experiences to well-thought-out writing and research, this one sounds like the real deal! Being kind to oneself by showing self-compassion is the gateway to a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life. I've definitely added this one to my WTR list. Thank you so much! :-)

I don't typically read motivational and self-help books but I just read a sample of this book and I would recommend it to people feeling bad for themselves and people who have difficulties forgiving themselves. Congrats on winning BOTD.
