Review of Pigsville
Pigsville by Mark Fishman is a work of fiction involving two men who are trying to dominate a city. One of these battles or struggles has to end.
Lloyd Frend, an ex-mob leader, has decided to go legit. He started some legit businesses, created some companies, and even became involved in philanthropy. This is because he intended to get into politics. However, a rival, Eduardo "Vince" Negron, is dreaming big. He might not be as rich and influential as Frend, but he was smart. Negron started stealing from Frend, and one of his men betrayed him, which led to a war that would involve a neutral man, Walt Hargrove. Due to the fact that Hargrove hangs around El Perro Lloron, a bar, and restaurant where El Manojo organizes their meetings, he gets involved in the fight. Did he survive? What was the outcome of this war?
Pigsville by Mark Fishman is an action-packed story that focuses on many characters. Characters like Walt Hargrove, Lloyd Frend, Lily Segura, Ramon Lopez, and so on. This enables the readers to see through the characters individually in the story. This is a story that is laced with violence, drugs, and sex, and it should be read by adult readers.
I love the fact that, subtly, the author tried to introduce some historical facts into his book. This shows how versed the author is, especially when it comes to history. Fiction that is laced with history is always one I enjoy a lot, and I enjoyed this part of this story. Also, I love the characters' developments, especially Walt Hargrove's. I guess I got to enjoy this because the author focused on every character in the book.
However, I didn't really fancy the situation around the character, Lily Segura. The story started with her with other characters, but she later disappeared. I expected more from her, probably because I got a little bit attached to her character. She should have been more involved in the story. Also, there is a particular thing I didn't fancy as well. The story didn't start with the accounts of what Negron and his gang members did before they were popular in the city and before they acquired wealth. I expected to see this be part of the story. For these reasons, I would give this book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars.
However, the book is exceptionally edited because I found no errors. I would recommend this book to lovers of fiction laced with violence, guns, drugs, and sex.

Would love to ask why but I don't want to sound intrusive.

Those things make me very uncomfortable, even when no one else is around. I guess I think they should remain private.
