Spanning over the course of more than a century from the 1980s to 2044, this tale depicts a number of lifetimes. A story of cause-effect, Entanglement- Quantum and Otherwise describes the interconnecting lives of multiple individuals starting with Geena Nuss. Nuss is described as a lonely person entering a new chapter in her life. She is a character of the future, diving into her family’s history in the wake of her father's passing. This leads the story to the introduction of her mother Beth, a addict-prostitute. The book goes on to tell the tale of imperfect people with trauma that binds them together one way or another.

The way in which the author devotes chapters to the various characters and their character development establishes individuality for each character and their story. The details and background provided make it more satisfying to see the relationships overlap and interconnect. However, initially the development of each individual character can be rather confusing because of the author’s dramatic-withholding writing style. The characters could use more well versed layers to better engage the audience into their storylines. And despite the real trauma displayed in the lives of the characters, more emotional depth would create more of a reliable connection between readers and the characters they want to believe.

The introduction of Professor Martin Case and his studies of quantum science, further reaffirms the theme of the book and its title, by establishing the parallel between quantum theories of entanglement with how people’s lives interconnect and influence one another. However the book lacks much detail and exploration of the scientific knowledge and perspective, which may mislead an audience member prepared for science related concepts amongst this mysterious, crime-thriller novel.

Throughout this gritty, crime infested storyline, Danenbarger provides vivid details through descriptive words, therefore his writing style fits the thrilling concept of the story. While some parts of the story continue and dive deeper into the plot, other parts can feel either slow or confusing. But I may also argue that there is much depth in Danenbarger’s words that require readers to pay attention and thoughtfully read each page.

This book is engaging for its take on how one's actions affect others, how people influence people. Certain areas could be better explored, but if the expectation is a story that combines the depths of science with the depths of life wrapped in thrilling details, then Entanglement- Quantum and Otherwise is a sufficient choice. Overall, I give this 3 out of 4 stars because the plot of the book is unpredictable and suspenseful and it is this aspect of the book that creates the motivation to continue reading. This book does contain mature subjects such as sexual, drug, and murder content, therefore is recommended for ages 18 or older.
