Review by Kavita Shah -- The Tales of Little Lady M
The Tales of Little Lady M is a children’s book written and illustrated by Diego Di Mauro. Children can actually learn valuable life lessons through interesting and fun stories. And this book precisely does that. It’s a compendium of magic creatures and adventure stories which will teach many vital life lessons.
Queen Justynella inhabited the deserted castle in the Kingdom of Oaks Bridge. She felt lonesome and one night wished upon a star to end her desolation. Soon, Queen Justynella met her King and a few months later they had a baby girl named Misha. Misha grew up to be a clever and witty girl.
The people of the Kingdom of Oaks Bridge started calling her Little Lady M, as she was wise beyond her years and occasionally silly, like any girl of her age could be. One night, Misha discovers the Land of Dreams; where imagination has no boundary. Later on, Little Lady M embarks on four fresh adventures. Where we meet cursed frogs, old witches, terrible trolls, dwarves, and fairies and many magic creatures.
It’s a pleasant story which children will love to read. I enjoyed reading about the protagonist who is a curious and adventurous girl. She’s brave, kind and wise. I also liked that there was a moral at the end of each adventure which was presented nicely.
The writing style is direct and easy to understand. The tale is in simple text and the dialogues are in rhyming verses. All the illustrations are wonderful. They’re lively and matched the text and were a positive enhancement in between the text. The book teaches friendship, wisdom and moral lessons through the stories.
Overall, there was nothing to dislike, so I’m giving it 4 out of 4 stars. It’s editing is remarkable, as I found no errors while reading. I recommend it to guardians searching for an interactive and adventurous story for their young ones. Children will learn valuable lessons and guardians can explain it to them. As the book is descriptive and includes a lot of texts, children above 7 years should be able to read it.
