Review by Kavita Shah -- Spellbound - The Workings of Dr...
Spellbound - The Workings of Drugtech written by Marcel Sahade comes under C/T/M/H genre. It contains 124 standard pages. The book has many intriguing short tales which will spellbind you. At first, they do not seem to be related at all. Halfway through, you can guess that something connects them to a pharmaceutical company called Drugtech. At the end, the pieces come together completing the jigsaw puzzle. I felt that each piece (short story) was complete in itself. The writer had my attention from the first chapter. The writing style was straightforward and suspenseful. All The short stories were refreshing, and each concluded with me in shock and awe.
This book has a plethora of short stories about pirates in search of hidden treasure, an arrested drug lord, a NASA Scientist and many more. If you want to know their stories and how they take place simultaneously, then you will have to read this book. Drugtech is a corporation which will stop “The Cure” from coming out in public, as it will not benefit them. Some of these stories showed the dark side of humans where morals and ethics are nothing. The twists and the diversification of the short stories will leave you thrilled and delighted.
I really liked the chapter called “Mr Solitary”. Maxamillian is in a prison cell with another person. When Maxamillian speaks to him he learns his name is Peter aka Mr Solitary and he has been in solitary confinement for a long time. He prefers and enjoys being in solitary confinement. He tells some amazing observations to Maxamillian. I loved reading the insightful dialogues of Peter. They are clear and simply truthful facts.
The book is an interesting read. It involves a blend of fantasy, drama, suspense and gripping stories. After reading each chapter, I was smiling in disbelief. The twist took me by surprise. Most stories were riveting, entertaining and dark. There is nothing I dislike about the book.
I give Spellbound - The Workings of Drugtech 4 out of 4 stars . It looks like it’s edited by experts, as I detected only one spelling errors in the book. The book did not have any explicit sex scene or scenes of violence. I recommend it to the fans of short stories and it’s also suitable for young adults. I would not recommend to younger readers as there are mentions of sex and death. Both of which are unsuitable for younger readers.

Thank you for stopping by!Fireside119 wrote: ↑17 May 2021, 03:20 A collection of short stories all connected to an evil corporation called Drugtech. Since it is well-edited and expertly written, I will add it to my shelf.

Yes. I was eager to read how the stories would connect. And I wasn't disappointed at all.
