War bereaves peace, without peace life becomes hard. Galen Bray lived through war for 20 years, in the Land of Princes, until Galen Onita, his great uncle pulled a call to him through Rowan, his uncle's executor. Bray took the call as an escape from suffering; he headed for Magnum Caelum to inherit his uncle's business, Onita steel forge.

Voulhire a nation ruled by King Wilhelm in a monarchy system and the Mianoran council as a check. The Mianoran council is led by Midius Maido, which governs the Mianoran knights. The King and Maido are deadlocked on diverse interests and this erupts instability. Magnum Caelum is a city in Voulhire. Voulhire is a nation with a different setting from where Gray left, will he cope in the puzzle of politics and magic?

We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies, which spells on the politics and grandeur of Voulhire Kingdom, is the introductory set of the series. The book opens with a map that explicates the cities, mountains, and rivers, afterwards Matthew Tysz delved into the story. Since this book is the introduction of a series, this explains the slow pace of events unravelling with a stanch for more. The author set the book with vivid imagery (description of people and place), consequently, stitching moments through actions and thoughts.

Tysz narrates the book in the first person, which gives an in-depth view of the character's action and inaction. To achieve this, he laces each chapter as a scene of a character. More appreciative of the book is it being professionally edited, purging the book off errors. The stream of consciousness narrative method adopted is the best for a sci-fi, due to its display of the mindset of the characters, which is necessary to understand absurdities displayed in fantasy.

Nothing is perfect, so you won't expect this book to be otherwise, though the structure and cohesion of this book are flawless, even the book has a cadence to it. The ditch is in format style, not numbering the book page makes wandering through it hard, what worsens the confusion is the cycling of the chapter title. This book is worth a 4 out of 4 stars, not even the small anomalies can make me remove a star.

If you love Game of Thrones then you are in for another blockbuster, it will be deserving for the book to be adopted as a screenplay. If magic and political turf fantasize you, stroll to your nearest bookstore and take this book off their shelf, this book is worth your time.

Before I got to the part where you talked about Game of Thrones, I was already beginning to visualize that the setting of this novel might be similar to that.

I actually thought "The Witcher" which is close.

I've always marvelled at authors who could create those kinds of scenes and storylines, and I must add that your review is just great!
