For relaxing, I am currently reading A Woman of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford. I love a good costume drama. Having spent many an enjoyable Saturday afternoon watching the T.V. mini series based on this novel (starring Jenny Seagrove, Deborah Kerr and Liam Neeson), I have always wanted to read the book. I am enjoying it so far. The T.V. version appears to have stuck very closely to the original novel.
For learning, I am reading Essentialism The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown. I find this book really inspiring because it encourages you to stop trying to do it all and, instead, learn how to get the right things done. It encourages you to pursue the things that really matter to you in a more disciplined way. I highly recommend this book.

Offspring by Jack Ketchum. It's a sequel to Off Season. I'm three-quarters of the way through it. It's visceral. I'm an avid horror buff. I've seen, read, and written some messed up content. Ketchum still gets under my skin. I get queasy and that's rare.
The X by R. Derek Walker. It's a self-published book the author sent me via Twitter DM. I'm three-quarters of the way through on this one as well. It's very engaging and easy to read. As a father, it speaks to me as it's about a father seeking his kidnapped toddler. Leo's daughter, Xandre, is kidnapped by a violent cult called the "Reds" and is taken into the "Wild". Due to massive earthquakes the American government forced everyone to Move to the "Belt", a section of southern states, everything above is a lawless wasteland. It's an engaging and easy read.
Both are great and I recommend both.

It's a science fiction novel by a Black author. It is quite interesting because it takes the main character from the present to the past. It also touches on the theory that if you step on a butterfly while in the past, it could affect the future! I highly recommend it
