Based on the review this book is not something that I would enjoy reading. I am not a fan of reading about tragedies. I dislike family sagas or histories of family novels. I will pass on reading this book.

Life in a Box is a beautiful character-driven novel of multiple generations of a family. When Andee Camp is given a box of family mementos, her mother encourages her to write a book. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Great review. Thanks for telling me about this book. I think I would enjoy it.

There is always something interesting in knowing family histories. The characters of V.J. and Ben seems interesting. I wish the end is not as disappointing as mentioned in the review. Congrats on BOTD!

I liked how your review seems to encourage to read it but also tells us that there are still loopholes regarding the novel. I like character-driven stories, but the mention of too many characters with dangling threads made me hesitate to read this. The unsolvable mysteries also tend to repel me a bit. I like the title. It's amazing how much one can learn about another life just by what is in a box. I look forward to following the protagonist as she discovers the family secrets and honors her mother's last wish. Great review!

I'm honestly not quite sure how I feel about "Life In A Box" by Neathery because the reviewer gave/painted a different story to me then what I read on Amazon's webpage about the book when I purchased it. The reviewer speaks about novels Andee wrote, which I don't remember reading about on Amazon's page (though I could be wrong!) I just know the daughter, Andee, was given a box of family photos/momentos, and asked by her Mom to tell a story. And one of them (reviewer or Amazon), mentioned Andee talking about 2 sets of twins being born the same day 100 miles apart (one set being her mother & uncle.) I'm not sure the relation to the 2 sets of twins, or how the 2nd set comes into play. I guess I'll have to read the book to find out.
But reading the review did not make me interested in the book at all, honestly. Amazon's blurb about "Life In A Box" DID make me interested though. But after reading Amazon's blurb (that had me interested) & then the reviewer's review (that had me not interested), now I'm honestly not sure what to think! I honestly don't know now if I will enjoy the book or not!!
