The book Burn Zones: Playing Life's Bad Hand is written by Jorge P. Newberry. The book is 350 pages long and is made up of 10 chapters. This is an autobiography of the author's life. It is a very inspiring story about all the ups and downs the author faced in his life. Jorge teaches us that through hard work we can all achieve our dreams. The book is written the first-person.
The book starts of with Jorge at the age of seven. He started work delivering newspaper. He saved all his money. At the age 11 he started his own business. He bought an ice-cream trike with all his savings. He left high school at the age of 16. He bought a record company and turned it into a successful company. He then decided to race bicycles. He wanted to be the best. He got a job organizing mortgage loans. He saved most of his money and then bought apartment units. He became very rich. He did not like to spend his money lavishly. He lived a simple life and skipped meals which lead to his health problems.
While reading this book I could see that Jorge was a kindhearted person. He is a good person who wanted to make the most of his life. He lived his life to the fullest. Most children at the age of 7 played games or watched television. But Jorge worked at an early age. He was not afraid of hard work or to try new things. To me Jorge seems like a gentleman. He waited to rich and successful, and then he asked his girlfriend Verria to marry him. He secured a future for both of them. Jorge did every job he had to the fullest.
What I liked most about the book is that the author included some of his personal family photo's. Throughout the book I could feel his love for his family. They played a very important part of his life. It was very sad when his father was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. I could relate to his pain and grief. It is not easy to lose our parents. Jorge has great values. He stood by his parents when they needed him.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book is professional edited. I only found 2 mistakes. I recommend this book to reader's who love to read autobiography books. This book does not contain any vulgar language or sexual scenes. It is a good book that inspired me. It is a very easy book to read.
