All roads lead to Voulhire. In all the surrounding islands, most people have one destination in mind; that is Voulhire. You'd think that they have a similar reason to set foot at the palace but no, they are parallel and as far from each other as possible. On one hand, some characters just want an audience with the king while others want to topple the reigning authority. On the other hand, some want to be witnesses and testify about the maltreatment they had to endure in the Lands of the princes. But knowing that every palace is sacred, and often guarded by highly qualified security detail, who among the intruders will get through the palace gate? By all means that the invaders have tried to get through the palace gate, who will see and meet the king regardless of his busy schedule?

As the intruders' path cross at the palace gate, ambition and greediness invade the hearts of men and all hell starts to break loose. The great wars begin here and end here only to start again making the palace a battle field. When all wars have been fought, they end with the biggest tragedy. King Wilhelm’s life is in danger and all his people are not safe. In the end, the tragedy widely affects King Wilhelm and Prince Darius and this tragedy will forever remain in the hearts of men. This tale can be read by a vast audience of all ages from the young to the old. This book will entertain you as long as you are comfortable with the use of dark magic and secrets.

We are Voulhire: Someone Else’s End by Matthew Tysz is a science fiction book about Meldorah who seems to be an extraordinary human being. As much as the Voulhirian islands have their own kings, chiefs and sub-chiefs, the Emperor of Lullabies rule them all by force. The Emperor is a magical super being who is able to penetrate through the minds of men forcing them to do as he desires. But with Meldorah, it is a different story. The Emperor of Lullabies cannot just control Meldorah forcing him to do things out of his own will. The big question is where does Meldorah's disguise as Eioda fit in in this equation?

We are Voulhire: Someone Else's End include themes of friendship, magic, disguise, ambition, spies, bribery and more. In Virko characters disguise themselves in unbelievable ways. Characters like Meldorah, Rowan, Galen, Demetrius are involved in disguising themselves. The answer to why Matthew Tysz decided to hide the true identity of some of the characters is a mystery left to be discovered by the reader. We are Voulhire was quick to read as it has only 114 pages. The book is divided according to the names of the characters who are narrating their stories as it unfolds.

The author oscillated between the first-person and the third-person narrative voice which slowed my reading just a little. As a result, I was left confused. As much as I didn’t like this, it did not affect my rating. I am glad to rate this book a perfect 4 out 4 starts. On the other hand, there is nothing I did not like about this book. I enjoyed reading it. In addition, there is no doubt that the book was professionally edited as I came across one grammatical error in the entire book. As I turned the pages, I just couldn't wait to read more about magic and ugly faceless beings which are beyond the comprehension of man.

The practice of magic seem to cause the possessers to think that they have power over others, i love the character called Meldorah, he is seem exceptional. Supernatural beings always have over evil.

From your review, this book sounds interesting, and it seems readers who like dark magic may appreciate it more. It also seems to show Matthew Tysz’s uncanny skill of developing unique characters such as The Emperor of Lullabies who is able to control people by penetrating their minds. Flawless editing is also another plus. Thank you for this wonderful review!

Here magic is the way of life: the more magic you have, the more powerful you'll be. And that's just your ticket to exploiting other people.

Indeed! The Emperor of Lullabies is an extremely unique characters i was just glad that he didn't see flawless as he was unable to control Meldorah no matter how supernatural and powerful he is.

This sounds like quite the interesting series to get into, but I've been reading that the writing quality seems to have gone down since the first book.
