I like science fiction as well as spiritual books. This one seems to address both themes, with a protagonist that has a Buddhist outlook. It's a pity there are punctuation, spelling, and grammatical errors. Those really put me off. Anyway, it seems as if I might enjoy this book. Thanks for the review!

This piece of science fiction sounds very intricate. Technology can be very helpful at times, but eventually it reaches the fine like between helpful and detrimental. Taking place in space and being told from different perspectives make this book sound imaginative.

The impressive review of Ten Directions by Samuel Winburn provides not only a comprehensive summary of the book, but also a vivid description of the characters. Science fiction does not appeal to me, but I thought this book might be different. Its beautiful cover certainly attracted my attention, but turned out to be what I liked most about the book. It seemed as if too many characters were introduced too quickly into a setting I had difficulty understanding. The combination of advanced technology in a future world finally realizing the importance of ecology, plus a Buddhist monk will certainly attract science fiction fans.

I don't enjoy science fiction much, but I think some topics touched in this book are important, such as ecological destruction, empathy, and meditation. I'm glad there are strong female characters, although a first-person perspective might have been interesting.

Oh boy, following d'Jang's instructions could cause a black hole? Exploring the purpose of human life and whether progress toward visiting other planets has made people happy sounds like heavy topics to discuss. Being told in different perspectives can definitely be a great way to tell a story. Proximity Malaise Syndrome sounds like an interesting add-in to the story, and Calvin30 doesn't seem to one to trust as he takes away the black hole message. Glad you found the future technology in the book to be creative and that there were strong female characters. Too bad that you felt distant from the characters, that points were tiring to read, and that there were errors here. However, it's good to know that you found the writing to be done well. As I'm not a fan of science fiction and having a spiritually-evolved person in the text, I don't think this is for me. Glad you enjoyed it though and thanks for sharing!

Just reading the review you can tell how imaginative this book is. Like what is this story?? My brain is going in ten directions just trying to absorb it. Sounds very unique. I would have never guessed all of this was going on behind the cover.

This one sounds too long, too complex and far too much sci-fi for my taste. But if you are a fan of this genre it looks like the author has created a unique reading experience. I like the idea of Buddhist teachings incorporated into the story.

It seems as though there is a lot going on in this book but the world is described in enough detail to make it all fit.
