I'm going for 190 books again in honor of The Hardy Boys.
190?! Wow. I've set reading challenges for myself on Goodreads with an aim of 100. I was proud when I managed to get them by the skin of my teeth, twice. I never once even considered 190 could be done. It just seems so impossible. You've put my amateur reading to shame, and inspired me.

Good luck. :)

I would say in 2018 I read around less than 20 books as I was Painfully busy. But in the years before that, I would consume books like the wind. I'm sure since we use this site, many others can relate too. I would love to get back into the swing of things again: nonfiction, theory, craft manuals, autobiography, cooking books, comicbooks, short stories, news articles and even lengthy blog posts i just cant get enough. So im setting a low goal but i can hopefully surpass this goal of 60 books in 2019!
Yes, if you start with a goal of 20, that will be my approximation to start for too! Made any progress? I have since read one -- a novella, how 'bout you?

Now, I am about to finish writing and posting my book review, here (of said book).

Keep going,

YES,

If you start with a goal of 20, that will be my approximation to start for too (20's less intimidating for busy scheds)! Made any progress? I have since read one -- a novella, how 'bout you?

I am actually finally about to finish writing and posting my review here (of said novella).

Keep Going!

From 20 books in 2017 to 31 books in 2018, to a goal of 50 books in 2019. I don't know how I'm going to do that, and I certainly hope not to give in to temptation of reading very short novels and counting them as proper books... but I will try my best.

Is double dipping allowed? There's another reading challenge I'm participating in and my goal for that is 40 because that's the amount I came close to reading in 2018; at least the number that was documented from late June toward the end of December. I'm 6 books in currently and am working on the 7th.

I think I'm going to go for 50, last year I started in October and got 30, so I've got a bit more of a start this year, I'll try to add the books I've already read this year to my list if I can find them.

My goal is 35. I'm a college student so making room for both pleasure reading and homework is a challenge in of itself, but for the last couple of years I haven't read much (unless you count really boring peer-reviewed scholarly articles, 'cause I've read tons), so I'm trying to get back into the habit.

Depends on your workload and how fast a reader you are. Definitely focusing on your grades is most important, especially freshman year. And you can always go over your reading goal, it's just used to challenge yourself not limit. <3
