I think it was simply an effort to benefit suffering people with the outcome of her father's research. I think it was a brilliant idea to spread her word in a world dominated by pharmaceutical approaches.

I completely agree.
The problem with books such as this is that they rarely state if the research was done with double-blind trials, control groups, or if it was even trialed properly at all. Often the references are obscure and difficult to find (especially if you need to pay for the papers online to view the reference) or there are no references to the claims made in the text.
It's very difficult to validate their claims as to whether there has or hasn't been research conducted on the subject.
I would definitely say that the author is not an expert, the father may have been but the author is not. Bringing in colleagues of the author's father does assist with the validity.

Research comes from diligently looking into a specific topic and in this case, finding a possible way to develop a cure. I believe that the book meets thiis requirements and has enough research.

I do personally believe that one cannot detach something from their opinion completely, which is not necessarily a bad thing if you have your researched, and I felt as if this author did (although there may have been bias involved), especially since she was exposed to a father who was a molecular biologist.

Considering the author's career, I think this book is based on opinions and past experiences.

I believe it is a mix of the two.
Think outside of the books.

I have yet to read the book, but through reading the forum posts, it seems like the book has a decent mix. I prefer a good piece with scientific proof, but I understand that the nature of science itself is not fixed but evolving, and we are still learning something everyday. Still, I am glad that the book has a good deal of research to back up its claims.

The book looks very much like a result of research, research on the author's father. But I'd say, it isn't a professional research result, a lot more could be done.

As being in the field of science, I deeply agree with you on this one. Changes in science are unpredictable. One minute we know then the next it has evolved, especially in the pathology department. Bacteria,
viruses, and etc. evolve to adapt. It is not a surprise that now some of them are drug-resistant.

I do agree that a lot more could be done. The research papers involved are sufficient in its claims, but in the field of medicine, we need more statistics.

I think only having a molecular biologist father isn't enough to write such books. The author seems to have enough knowledge to write this book though.

First of all, the book isn't about this lady, its all about her father and his work. She is only a facilitator. The one who strived to bring to fruition her father's efforts and research to help people suffering from cancer.
So yes, it is based on research, her father's research.

The book is a mix of both. It holds the author's opinion supported through concrete research evidences. Since it does touch on an alternative form of medicine, it could be controversial for a few readers.

I've read a lot of the comments and so far no one has mentioned the research her mother did. I have not yet finished the book, so I can't make a judgment about opinion versus research.
