Imagine, as you are traveling down a beautiful path, your journey comes to a sudden halt. With several crossroads and path diversions, you are unable to decide which direction would lead to your destination. Much to your relief, you find a roadmap that clearly displays the path to reach your dream destination. But, what map can you refer to if you lose direction in life? John G Bendt plots an accurate roadmap to set us on track in the pursuit of our career - A Roadmap To Career Success.

A career is a form of our identity. With a plethora of opportunities available, deciding the path which will lead to crafting our identity is often confounding. This book is a stepwise delineation of the skill building journey that will engender career satisfaction. It consists of 25 tips required to identify and develop the skill set necessary for any career choice. In addition, it covers the selection of the apt career path that resonates with our innate abilities and highlights various methods to thrive and succeed in our careers.

The book is more than just a roadmap – it’s a bible. If religiously followed, it can enlighten the path to prosperity in our choice of career. Determining a career path which aligns with our purpose in life is a difficult task for all, however, reading this book makes this perplexing decision seem uncomplicated. The cover of the book states that it’s meant for college-bound students, although, I believe that it is a recommendation for anyone beginning or restarting their career.

Another key feature of this book is that the author presents examples of various formats he prescribes for documentation. For instance, he gives a format of the questions necessary to engage in a productive discussion with a mentor/delegate to acquire information on a career. Nonetheless, there is absolutely nothing to dislike about this book due to its concise and pragmatic tips offered for pursuing our dream career.

Overall, this book deserves a generous 4 out of 4 stars. The book is well-edited and serves the purpose of a self-help book through its well-ordered compilation. It presents itself as a panacea to the viral epidemic affecting our population – career malaise. As a child, we would have had an answer to the question “What are you going to become?”Conversely, as we grow up, a majority of us struggle to answer this dreaded question. To all those souls seeking for an answer, grab a copy and find your true calling.

Nice review.
I don't think it is meant for college students alone.
