Suitability of the Title

I think the title is worthy of the narrative because the story deals with crime, mysteries, and death. So ghosts are the products of the departed souls from the physical beings.

While the title does give the impression that the book should be horror, even though it is labeled as suspense, I do think the title fits well. Suspense can be quite fearful in it's own way. We put a lot of stock in the straightforwardness of titles, but I think straightforward titles can be boring.

I have found many horror books to also be thrillers. Having read this book recently, I find the title to fit the book perfectly.

The title does hint at a horror story. However, fear has many forms. So in a way the title is suitable for the book.

The face of fear in my opinion is suitable for a suspense novel or crime thriller. However, the image of the ghost face, tilts the genre towards horror. However, if I was to consider the title alone, it is okay for the crime thriller genre.

While the title did make me think of horror at first, I don't believe that it's unsuitable. Since murder mystery is the main theme and the book contains kidnapping, "the face of fear" is quite fitting.

Unfortunately, when you pair the title with the cover art, it does come across as misleading.

Well, a lot of things can cause fear, even simple things. Abduction is a major one so it isn't out of place to link the title to the events happening in the book. However, its combination with the cover art gives a different impression, so I would have preferred a different front page with the same title.

I think that the title of the book fits the theme well. One of the characters within the story is facing a terrifying ordeal and she may never get to see the people she loves again. Also, the book includes murder and who hasn't seen a horror movie where lots of people die for no, or unsuspected reason? To me, the title of the book seems to fit with the theme of the book. But, that's just me. I can't wait to see what everyone else has to say.

I think the title is misleading. I initially thought this book was a horror not just because of its title, but also because of its cover art. In my opinion, the author ought to at least come up with a better title. Perhaps a simple one word title that can draw readers in and let them know right away that this is a suspense novel.

It’s good to know this is a suspense novel. I assumed it was horror from the title and the cover art. Thank you for the clarification. I still plan on reading it but it’s good to know what to expect.

I also thought it was horror (based on the cover and the title). I wasn't as interested to read it once I discovered it wasn't.
