I used to read in the car but my parents made me stop because they said it was bad for my eyes/sight. As long as the road isn't too bumpy, there wasn't really much of an issue for me.

I also have this problem when trying to read in cars. Strangely, I do not have this problem when reading on planes, trains, or large boats.

Reading while in a moving vehicle makes me nauseous and gives me headaches.

Yes, reading while riding in a car gives me motion sickness and headaches. I always avoid doing it.

I can't read in cars or on boats. I immediately get sick. I've always steered clear of reading in the past, but I never tried the blanket over my head idea. Thanks for sharing that! I can read in planes, so it must be something to do with everything moving and not having a fixed focal point. If I'm staring ahead at the road I'm usually ok, but that doesn't allow me to read.

I don,t read in cars. Mostly in the bumpy roads, it makes me sick and it is also bad for the eyes. So, every time I travel, I just enjoy the side scene.

I have the same issue. I get motion sickness very easily. I can't even rest on a float in a pool :(

I have found that ginger helps relieve my symptoms when I fly, but I haven't tried it with reading while riding. I listen to podcasts while I travel in cars.

I hope you can find something that will help!

I used to read all the time in a car, but now it does bother me a little-especially on a hilly or curvy road.

I used to get carsickness while reading all the time as a kid. The only thing that helped was winding down the window, and closing my eyes. All I'd get was five minutes of reading before my head started feeling groggy and my stomach felt queasy. If I left it too long, I'd get a headache and feel nauseous the rest of the day. There was no hope for me reading in the car for more than ten minutes. Sometimes, if I was confident enough to hold my guts, I'd sneak in a paragraph just when I was feeling a little better, but then I'd have to go back to looking straight ahead. It was a torturous little game.

Me! I'd rather read on an hour long bus ride but I get very dizzy. I wish it weren't so. All that time I could have spent on reading 😂

I get sick if I try to read or even look at my phone in a car :( I can read on the train though, not sure why it's so different. I don't have any tips for this unfortunately I just have to avoid doing it. An audiobook does sound like a good idea though.

I have the exact same issue. I'm not able to read in any vehicle that is moving if so I get sick. The only advice I can give you is to try an audiobook. I know it's not the same as reading a book yourself however it may help and you're still able to read while traveling.

During my college life, I used to read in a moving train everyday. So, I've got used to it and rarely feel sick because of reading in spite of being prone to suffer from traveling sickness.
