I haven't read the walking dead comics but I really want to because it makes total sense to me. I like watching the series and I love reading comics. So reading the walking dead series just makes sense.

I'm such a fan!! Watched all the seasons. But I was very dissapointed in the comics as I'm not a fan of blasphemous books or anything actually. In my heart I couldn't continue to read it after the first few pages of the first folume. Honest to say

Unfortunately, I started the TV series first, so I don't think I'll ever have to time to catch up on the comic book.

I've unfortunately started losing interest in this series, both comic and TV counterpart. It's not really that I didn't like it anymore, but I feel like it's getting too long, I don't have that much time to spend on a single storyline.

I am pretty caught up on TWD comic series, I am currently reading Lines Crossed and I am also caught up on the TV series too. I started the comics after the TV series. I am definitely hooked!

I love how The Walking Dead
focuses on so many types of
people. It's not just about Rick and
his group. It's about the whole
world they occupy now. I'm super
psyched to see how this season
coming up ties in with the comic
books.

Love the TV show but it started to lose me in the most recent series. I have volumes 1 - 4 of the comics and I really do like them, I love seeing what they kept and what they changed in the TV show. I really don't like Carol in the comics.

I also have the Here's Negan comic which is Negans backstory which I definitely recommend.

The Woodbury story was played better in the comics, IMO. The Governor was a monster from the start who brutalized our gang the first time they ventured into his town. The showdown between him and Michonne when they escaped was so satisfying because of it, you're left rooting for Michonne when she brutalizes him back. When they squared off in the show, I was like "meh," because he wouldn't cross lines when they were his prisoners. There was no deep mistreatment for him to pay for at that point.

I've read the comics up to the part about the Governor. My husband has read every one of the comics up to the current issue. He says the television show has a lot more to cover.

hopecamp98 wrote: 14 May 2016, 19:07 I have read quite a few of the Walking Dead Comic Book Series but I love them They go deep into how the characters change and include many detailed drawings. However, what you failed to mention is the incredible differences that there are between the books and their television counterpart. The characters while some are the same are vastly changes as the show keeps some unkillable while killing off those who were never meant to be. Also, even the basic story line diverges greatly though it has been attempting to get itself back on the right track.
The comics don't have the character Darryl. He is one of my favorites on the television show.

The graphic novels are much darker and grittier than the show. And it is so much better. I can understand why AMC had to change some of the scenes due to network restrictions, but I lost interest in the show. I'll stick with the graphic novels.

I picked up one of the TWD omnibus volumes recently. I’ve been meaning to read it, the show is excellent. I’m glad people are giving it great feedback here!

I've read every issue and watched the TV show up until the current season. The differences are part of what made the television show interesting, but the Negan arc on the TV show killed my enthusiasm for the show. It was far too long, and frankly, moved the premise of the show away from survivors struggling to survive and rebuild to vengeance for two seasons, which became repetitive and boring. I watched a few episodes of season 9, but honestly, those episodes felt as of they were just filler and stage setting for the next two-season arc of fighting. No interest anymore.
