The Rivers of London Series by Ben Aaronovitch - I think this is more magical realism, but its described as being Harry Potter mixed with Sherlock Holmes. I like it because the author incorporates a lot of information (history, science, latin, etc) and magical elements.
I absolutely love Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
The Invisible Library series (by Genevieve Cogman) is a good one for Fantasy too! I love the idea of hunting for books across multiple worlds.
