One particular silly tradition kids do is capturing two people to be handcuffed together in a "love booth" or something.
Most captured "couples" did not consent to it. Those who wanted them captured just paid the facilitators.
The higher the pay, the longer the couple had to be handcuffed together. The facilitators do it to raise funds for the prizes or something.
The only good thing about it was the non-existent cameras on phones. It was in the last 2000s, and there were no smartphones in my time back then.

There was nothing happening at school that marked February 14 as a special day. It just wasn't noticed and went by like any other day. But based on all the comments here, I guess it might have been fun so long as no one got hurt.
