Before I Fall Great Book!

Post by BridgetteGrace_ »

Lauren Oliver really did it with Before I Fall. I love that this book makes you go through questions about real love, death, how one person's life really can effect you. It shows how one day can turn your whole life upside down and how if you even make the littlest difference it will change everything.

I agree, I wasn't big on the Delirium series either. Before I Fall is such a heart wrenching book though. It's so real and easy to relate to, which makes it even more sad than it would've been. Not to mention there aren't thousands of other young adult books like it. I loved Before I Fall, I wish she'd write more books like it.

I have read the Delirium series, and I too found it lacking. So that being said, I've been hesitant to even pick up Before I Fall. After reading so many positive reviews here though, I might just have to. It sounds like the general consensus is that it is much better than the Delirium series.

I agree Samantha is not going to be anyone's favourite character at the beginning of the book, however Lauren Oliver really turns things around and before you know it, you start to care about the character you hate and begin to empathise with her. So we'll written.

Just picked this up at work, and am loving it! I haven't been reading much fiction lately, so it's nice to be able to get lost in a book again. Especially one that takes me back to high school!

I've tried to read Before I Fall a couple times before but I can't seem to get into it... However after reading all your opinions I'll try it once more. Let's see how it goes...

I read the Delirium series, and I rather liked it, actually. This book took me a while to read because I am not fond of the "teeny bopper" crap, as I call it. I am one who gets up in arms about the snobbery, spoiled-ness, laziness, and entitlement of teens now a days and I though this would glorify it. Honestly, I am happy I did read it and actually enjoyed the book.

I think so, especially teens. The story shows how each decision we make affects everyone around us. Each day she only altered a few decisions but it leads to a drastic change. Sam could have lost all her friends and slept with her teacher or got to know other people better. These are things I think we should all keep in mind and think about more often.

I've heard so many good things about this book. If I can find it in my local bookstore then I'll definitely have to add it to my reading list.

Oliver uses her writing so well to demonstrate the controversial issues discussed in the book such as drugs, bullying, and popularity. I was so touched when Lindsay finally opened up to Sam about her past with Juliet. I really got to know the characters well as the day repeated. Amazing read!

I agree. I didn't really know what I was getting into but once I started, I was hooked. I couldn't put the book down.
