I really liked Cody and I think he was very swoon worthy. I believe that the reason he wanted to take Suzanne to his Chief was because he felt guilty for helping the Chief's other white slave get free. He was very honorable.

I felt that he treated Suzanne with respect and kindness. He was always trying to protect her. I just hate that there was a 8 months there that they were apart.

I think Cody is a sophisticated character who fits well with the culture and time period, and his feelings for Susan don't match what he did, he thought the thing he did was right at the time that it would be an honorable choice.
