I love the penning, the story was so wonderful.
A likable book to read.

I usually like historical fiction so I knew that I would enjoy this book, and I wasn't disappointing. Except for the time-traveling, that was a bit unreal.

Haven't read the book yet, but I like the author's avatar. 4/4.

I don't find myself particularly interested by it. A pregnant woman whose husband just died and finds another man as quickly as one can say ''GO!''. No thanks. I feel somewhat... offended by this type of turn of events. So, I decided not to read it. Plus, I'm not one who likes romance stories a lot, although the time-travel aspect of it sounds great and had me wondering if I should give it a try or not!

It's okay if you don't want to read the book due to your personal preferences. However, it's better to read the book before making a general comment about what you think the plot is about. Actually, the husband routinely abused the main character, Suzanne, when he was alive. Also, Suzanne did not find a man "as quickly as one can say go." She did not find a man at all. She went back in time after being injured in a car accident and Cody rescued her.

You got the story all wrong. As was said above, it is better to read the book (any book) before judging its merits or lack of them. 8)

That, I agree. However, the blurb gave me that idea - and usually, one picks up a book for its synopsis or the book cover, so if it sends a wrong message, then... And I never said it had no merits, I just said that ethically speaking I was against the idea of someone (mostly pregnant with another man's child) falling into the arms of another person right away. But it does sound better now with that summary, although I'm not one for romance.

Normally, time-travelling western romance novels are not my cup of tea. But all of the posts and reviews that are raving about it is enough for me to try it out!

I can see your point regarding the blurb and the cover. I am also not a big romance fan. If I do pick up a romance book, it's usually contemporary with some humor.

Overall, I'd rate it 2 out of 4 stars. Usually I can't stand historical romances, but I felt the author did a great job of creating well-developed characters. Unfortunately, I felt like I was watching one of my dad's western that I wish I hadn't watched/read. I thought the plot was okay, but I'm not a fan of books where practically everyone or everyone dies. I felt like it was a cop-out on the author's part. There were a lot of different ways I think the book could've ended. Some I was kind of glad died, but others frustrated me. I felt like I was watching a western version of Nicholas Sparks. How about everyone else?

Kio, you brought up some interesting points. Personally, I felt the middle of the book dragged with the western scenes. Whether or not I felt like I was watching "my dad's westerns" (nice analogy, Kio!), it was just not my cup of tea. I can't really say if those scenes dragged because of my reading preferences or just became a little repetitive. It's hard to say when the topic is not something I enjoy reading about.

ALynnPowers wrote:Don't hate me because I have commented on this book yet! You know I read it as soon as it came out, and I've already talked to Kristi personally with my thoughts on the story.

It's definitely not a book I would have chosen to read for myself (given that I don't like westerns or romances or pretty much any other genre that this book covers), but I was surprisingly interested in it.
What part about it seemed interesting to you since you've said that this wasn't a book that you would normally read? I'm curious because this typically isn't a book I'd read either.
