I loved this book, but if they did make a movie, I'm not sure I'd go see it. I don't think a movie could ever be as good as this book.

I just finished it a couple weeks ago and loved it. Finished it in my car just before returning it to the library and cried like a baby! Woops. Sure everybody looking at this crazy girl crying in her car was a bit amused.

Unfortunately I saw the movie quite a while before I read the book. I HATED that I always knew how Henry would die! This is why I never watch the movies first!!! Such a terrible spoiler!

I think Clare is an extremely strong person; first, for dealing with Henry and his condition so understandingly, and second, for never giving up her dream of having a child of their own, despite six miscarriages. I think the doctor's research on the mice was the thing that encouraged her to keep trying against all odds.
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!
