I also struggled through that part. But, I persevered because his research was so thorough I knew if I put the effort in it would all make sense in the end. I would love to see the book rewritten with Sarah's story woven in in smaller sections with the current day story and written in the present tense. It's a difficult thing to get right but I feel Sheldon would be up to it:-)Miriam Molina wrote: ↑25 Sep 2017, 20:23Strong Heart is awesome. It was not an easy read, especially in the middle part where Sarah is relating her abduction and canoeing experiences, but the rest of the story more than compensates. I have always been fascinated with Indians, at least since I started singing "Ten Little Indians."6. What is the most important thing you want your readers to get out of the book?
If someone who reads the book keeps thinking about the characters and the issues raised in the tale, is provoked to think, and enjoys the story, I have been successful.

It's funny to see that Charlie Sheldon was still working on Adrift, when this interview was made.
