If you had to listen to only one genre of music for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

My pick would be Christian music. I'm a lover of all types that uplifts the spirit and gladden the soul. It helps clear my mind and concentrate on God.

Probably hip hop, because it has such complexity in the lyrics that I can easily listen to the same song 10+ times and pick up something new (if it’s done well!)

I would choose rock. Not only does it fluctuate in style from band to band, it also can have extremely sad and meaningful lyrics, such as Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. Rock can go from slow to upbeat and fast, like Over the Hills and Far Away by Led Zeppelin, so even though it’s only one genre, there’s still different styles and sounds.
