Which type of music

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

Re: Which type of music

My two favourite types of music are classical and country. Classical is better music technically speaking, but I love the stories written into country music. Whether or not one is relaxing depends on the song.

Jazz is the best relaxer music. The beat is soft and smooth. The voice is soothing but tender.

YES! It's amazing how something that people would assume would be angry or whatever really can be relaxing (and positive!). I'm extremely picky with screamo, but what I like is some of my favorite music.

For when I want to relax, when driving, etc I really like metal, be it heavy, symphonic, power, screamo, etc. Bands like All That Remains, Lamb of God, Symphony X, Blind Guardian, Rise Against, etc.

If I'm doing something that requires more concentration (writing, coding, etc) I like video game covers, especially on guitar or symphony, as well as things like Two Steps from Hell (they do a lot of the symphonic stuff for movie trailers, etc; don't let the name fool you, they have a lot of light stuff, and all that I've heard is without lyrics). When I really need to focus, I can't listen to lyrics, or I get sucked into em too much and get completely distracted from what I'm doing.
Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Any kind of music relaxes me personally. Music is just an outlet for me and it makes me really happy so it doesn't even matter what kind it is.

Jazz or Chillhop which is a subgenre of hip-hop that contains jazz elements. They're pretty cool if you don't want your tunes to be blaring. Additionally, there are different categories of these genres so you could narrow it down to the most relaxing fix.

Any type of genre works for me to feel relaxed even though I had this love on a specific genre. I just had a wide range in music to listen to.

I always find myself jamming up to RnB and hiphop. I also love good old gospel music and if I want to relax my mind, classic tunes do the trick.
