The First American Female Poet: Anne Bradstreet

Post by julanderson »

I want to start a discussion about the famous Anne Bradstreet and her many poems. Her works are notable for their perfect iambic pentameter. Her humble words and often contradict what they are trying to say like in her work "The Prologue" Where she says that she just wants to be acknowledged for her work but not praised like the men in her time. Do you find that she is being humble or coy?

Go ahead and share more information about her. Frankly, I did not know her nor read her works.
