REFLECTION (Part 1)

Losing Yourself

Try to look into the mirror
and see who's there
Gaze at your reflection
and watch as it stare
Are you still the same person
before he came?
Or did you change yourself
just to fit into his game?

You're looking at your reflection
with so much repugnance and hatred
Once young, brave and innocent
now fearful and scared
Look into your own reflection
and ask yourself,
Why did you treat him like a diamond
when you're just a book on his shelf?

Watch your reflection
as it stares back at you
Why did you let him take
the best part of you?
Watch your reflection
as its eyes brimmed with tears
Why did you let him know
your doubts and your fears?

Your skin is full of scars
like tattoos painted on your body
Deep cut red screaming
with a different story
Now you see someone
in the mirror you can't even recognize
Your old self is long gone,
you can't even see her in your eyes.

This is nice, but I think it's incomplete without an advice on how to recover after she has discovered that she's no longer the same since the guy came into her life.
