Rainy night

Post by kophi_addo »

So its raining "elephants and hippos". I decided to take a warm shower before bed. I stared out the window at the rain-filled sky as the warm water caressed my body, enveloping me in warmth. I listened silently to the sound of the rain as it fell on the roof top.
Slowly the noise faded and all I could hear was the sweet lullaby mother nature sings to her beloved.
I fell in love with the melody, with the rain.
On a cold cold night just like today, take a warm shower, slowly let yourself go and listen silently. U might be lucky enough to hear her sing.

I love the imagery. It's currently raining right outside my window, and this poem fit the mood so well.

A beautiful ode to rain, it evoked all the sensations of a cold rainy night. I enjoyed it!

Great use of imagery! Thank you for sharing with us. I love you saying "hippos and elephants" because where I'm from we say "cats and dogs" when referring to heavy rain. I love your description so much!

This is beautiful! Simple, sweet, and with wonderful imagery. I always love the personification of Mother Earth. Rain is a lovely thing, and I like your connection of natural rain with human showers. Thanks for sharing!
