YOU THINK YOU'VE LEARNED

Post by CHRIS2428 »

You think you've learned when you started to move out
of your cave and live life free as a bird.

You think you've learned when you started dating
and having fun was a gem.

You think you've learned when you started earning
and making money was a god.

You think you've learned when you never look back
the ones you left behind who made you whole.

You think you've learned because you grow old and had everything.
But you haven't, when the person who raised
you and brought you to earth left the ground
alone.

This is very deep and so true. I think we can all relate to this.

No one learns by getting everything done correctly, one must learn from mistakes. Those mistakes would make him who he is and will make him who he want to be.

I'm surprised, but I really like the impact of the poem and the words.
The tone is strong and compelling - creates a great piece.

Wow I didn't see that coming, a wonderful way to portray life as we know it and how the most important lessons are never learnt even when it's too late.

So true. I'm in my early 30's and I now know that I don't know everything. A lot of life is learning things the hard way, unfortunately. Good poem!
