What genre of music do you like?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

I'm all over the place when it comes to music, my mood depends on the genre I pick. Stressful days can only be relieved by classical, jazz or a little Elvis Presley. My workout and driving genre is rock, especially Five Finger Death Punch or Korn. Christmas music is only worth listening to if it's sung by, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Bing Crosby. The only genres of music that I refuse to listen to would be country and rap.

I like folk and roots music. In Canada this means listening to artists like Stan Rogers, Gordon Lightfoot, Corb Lund and Ian Tyson. This music is great for singing around a campfire in the summer or listening to on long drives down empty backroads, while admiring incredible vistas of waving wheat, towering mountains or gently rolling hills and incredible skies. This genre of music can tell stories of love, loss and determination. We camp a lot and this is our go to music.

I enjoy many things but mostly pop, r&b and hip hop. I mostly love good rap lyrics since they are able to have deep meanings and i consider it an art on itself

I actually do like a little bit of everything, but my favorite genres are classic rock, progressive rock, and Celtic music.

I've been listening to a lot of country lately, too. Mostly, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and The Band Perry.

I actually like a few genres of music. I listen to rap, hip hop, pop, and R&B. More into the Rap and R&B. But if I sometimes will like a certain song if it’s not one of those genres. For example I hate country music. But there are a couple country songs I like but I don’t like the genre itself I just like the songs themself.

I like heavy metal songs and trash metal songs. I like listening to music with high bass frequency. It makes me relax. I also like
Owl City and it's techno music.

Depending on the mood, I like happy jumpy songs, slow songs, sad songs…and music. I listen to a LOT of music. Mostly violin, and cover songs. Piano Guys and Taylor Davis and David Garrett, and less known ones like Brunuhville, Efisio Cross and Bevani. Now I'm shifting to movie soundtracks. Lots of them.
