Lovely in Lavendar

Post by groove »

She loved the color lavender
Wore it every day to school
She didn’t care at all you see
Cause she wasn’t very cool.

She wrote poetry in a book
Sighing as each line was done
Her mother begged her to go outside
To meet some kids and have a little fun

Her words spoke of her sadness
Of feeling out of place
As the ink dried on the page
So did the tears upon her face

One day she was just no where
No one spoke of her again
But I think of her late at night
When I pick up my poet’s pen.

This is so moving yet simple at the same time. I got a feeling from it like it would do well with younger readers and could be relatable to kids who feel misunderstood.

I love how it’s relatable to the audience. Keep up the good work!
