The True Story of the "Big Bad Wolf"

Post by sophiemer642 »

Her brunette hair cascaded down her back
Her smile beamed so much
That the sun consistently glared at her
Her laugh was like a song
Music to my ears
The green of her eyes shined like an emerald
And that red hood
Oh that red hood
It completed her oh so well
For the past two years
I've been watching her
Delivering cookies every morning
To her grandmother
She was just so beautiful
I could never take my eyes off her
I want to tell her
That I love her
But look at me
I'm a wolf for crying out loud!
She wouldn't want a hideous creature like me
She couldn't love me
She probably has mountains of boys
Begging for her hand
It's stupid
But when you're in love
You do stupid things
Today I'm going to tell her
I hope I don't scare her
I just can't take this anymore
Shes right there
I have to make my move
It's now or never
Before she climbed the steps
Of her grandmother's house
I gently tapped the back of her shoulder
She turned and looked at me
And you know what she did?
She smiled
She actually smiled
I was about to flee
About to hide
But the way she looked at me
It encouraged me to stand my ground
And to say what I had to say
"Little Red, I lo-"
Before I could finish
Her grandma came out
She was yelling at my dream girl
Saying she should know better
Than to be talking with a horrendous vagabond
Like me
Her grandmother took her cane
And she stabbed it through my heart
I fell to the ground
And gritted my teeth from the pain
Little Red came by my side
Tears running from the sadness of her eyes
I looked at her
My perfect Little Red
"I love you", I whispered
She placed her hand gently on my head
"I love you too", she said
Her angelic face
Was the last thing I saw
Before my eyes closed forever
And boy let me tell you
I died a happy wolf

This is actually a beautiful poem reverberating with the theme of love. It is inconceivable that a big bad Wolfe did fell in love, but then its true. The poet deployed vivid imagery to convey the feelings Big Bad Wolf's had for his girl Little red. We can see the usage of repetition as a means of emphasis as well....' that hood,oh that red hood '. Her hair cascading down her back like a stream of water and the beaming smile were metaphorical. And equally, her laughter which was compared to a song and the green of her eyes that shined like emerald were both instances of simile employed by the poet for easy assimilation and understanding. This poem has a flow and rhythm to it which contributed in no small measure to its overall enjoyment.

I absolutely love this poem the tone and the craft is well written.
I taught a class on fairytale poetry and this would have been a great example for my writers.
Keep writing - consider doing more classics with a twist.
I would read that collection any day =)

Oh this is so painful. Not because you are different from each other but, you have to die first before you can confess your love. It cost your life just to let you know that she loves you too.. ;(

i love how one can always put so much hope into a being despite its awful features and all the negativity everyone might spew about it and how love can provell in even the worst of circumstances
