I do write my own poetry, and I can't narrow it down to just one favorite poet, so here's a list:
Olivia Gatwood
Rachel Wiley
Guante
Emily Dickinson
Margaret Atwood
Edna St. Vincent Millay
Robert Browning
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Melissa Lozada-Olivia
Danez Smith
Neil Hilborn
J.R.R. Tolkien (those songs in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit count as poems!)
Enheduanna (the first writer in history--AND a woman!)

and there's probably more, but here's my list off the top of my head.

Gosh, I don't know how to pick a favorite poem. My favorite collection is currently 'Hey, Galaxy!' by Andrea Gibson. She has such a real way of talking about love, justice, and mental health. Gibson can maintain both strength and vulnerability, I learn from them as much as I relate to them. My own poetry writing style is more along the lines of Rupi Kaur (I'm not comparing myself to her, just using her work as an analogy for my own so you get the sense of it!) in directness.

Maybe try “Her” and “Her 2” by Pierre Alex Jeanty, Tremande Pewett, “The Sun and Her Flower” and “Milk and Honey” by Rupi Kaur, “Pillow Thoughts” by Courtney Peppernell. All,”Milk and Honey I’ve seen previews, but all are beautiful and have deep meanings.

Yes I do write poems. Though, often as a form of therapy when I feel physically and internally broken and one of my favorite compositions is "ARROWS IN MY HEART." I am a strong admirer of the poetic works of MAYA ANGELOU, particularly her poem "CAGED BIRD" or better expressed as (I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS)

I do write poems too! Entered a competiton even. It's an awesome experience to be writing on such a short notice. I felt like I was having a fever. Such were my emotions. In any case, I won first place in such competition so it's worth it.
I love reading Shakespeare's sonnets and also tried my hand at writing it, turning it to iambic units and all that. 😂

I used to write poetry but haven't done so for ages. I like W.H. Ogilvie, and some of Christina Rosetti's works.

My favourite poet is Sylvia Plath, especially her later anthologies, though I've recently gained an appreciation for Charles Bukowski, especially You Get So Alone Sometimes It Just Makes Sense

My favorite poem is Black Sea by Mark Strand. I have only written one poem that I wrote when I was heartbroken in high school so it may not be a very good poem haha.
