Favorite Poem/Poet? Do You write?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

I started writing really before I started reading poetry. When I did start reading, I read Rupi Kaur, Tyler Knott Gregson, Robert M Drake, and Christopher Poindexter. Now, I am also reading Amanda Lovelace, Iain S. Thomas, and Rh Sin.

TJ de Ocampo wrote: 18 Jul 2017, 02:32 Pablo Neruda! This probably has to be his most famous line: "Love is so short, forgetting is so long" (from "Tonight I Can Write"). Although my favorite work of his has got to be "Poet's Obligation," and "Ode to Clothes." And yes, I also write poetry. I write in English and Filipino.
Finally someone speaks my language, Pablo Neruda

It has been a longtime since I last wrote a poem and that was dedicated to my parents. My dad was not able to understand what I wrote but when my mother explained it to him, he was very happy.

"I think I should have loved you presently" by Edna St. Vincent Millay is a poem that I absolutely love. Recently I have been reading it almost everyday just because it is so great to me. Im not sure I have a favorite poet but that poem is really powerful to me. I write poetry here and there but nothing very serious. I use it mostly as an outlet.

I believe I am adept at poetry writing. I have my own website where I just post poems and fictional stories.

All of my favourite poems are by Richard Siken. It's amazing that he can write so rawly from the viewpoint of a teenage girl.

I write free poems or rather my writing is poetic. I don't really have a favorite poem but I like all poems I have read.

I've recently gotten into Rupi Kaur. I really love all of her poetry collections.

I do not write poetry, I have tried in the past and I am not good at it :D

My favorite poet at the moment is Robert Frost. His mind is very creative, so it draws the readers in.

I do write poetry, but most of my stanzas are wrote as quatrains.
