theres a psycological study saying that claming music or no music at all is the best type of music to study with. if youre focusing on the beats or words, especially if your singing a long, your attention span loweres dramatically.

No way! I could never study while listening to music, it's a big distraction. I used to have a 5-minute break to listen to a song as a refreshment but never while I was studying.

I personally am not able to concentrate on studying or school work unless I have something playing in the background. It can be music or just a movie/tv show, but there has to be some kind of background noise.

I would highly recommend The Study Music Project by Dennis Kuo. The music is so soothing and helps you to concentrate without distraction.

I, personally, like to listen to music when studying whereas my parents object the idea as a whole. To be honest, most of the time I forget I'm even listening to the music because I'm concentrating so hard. It really depends on the person. If you think you are more productive listening to music, then go for it.

I don't have any particular music for reading, I listen to Celtic music all of the time anyway so I don't need any other kind. I think though a new age genre is good for reading also.
