This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

I usually can't listen to music whilst reading - as it would distract me. However, perhaps classical might work...

Depends on the book I am reading. Usually I listen to New wave or RnB. But when I love the book I'm reading and want to finish it immediately, I don't listen to any music.

I generally like soft music. Acoustic and folk music, always with lyrics. For some reason instrumental music distracts me more than words!

I remember when I was a kid I re-read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix while listening to Daniel Powter’s Bad Day on repeat! Every time I hear that song I think about that book ☺️

Instrumental. I will usually go on the spotify app and choose the background piano or the peaceful guitar playlist.

Classical music does the trick... Especially Vivaldi's four seasons... It is calming and it creates a peaceful atmosphere for both reading and relaxing.

I like listening to instrumental tracks from soundtracks. It keeps the action going. I particularly love the Lord of the Rings one and the Pride and Prejudice one.

Soft Rock and anything calming that involves a piano or a violin.

I love listening to instrumentals and acoustic guitar versions of songs. They help me in concentrating on a book while reading.

I'm the same. It's is my theme music when reading. I love anything as long as it keeps up with what I'm reading.

I'd love to read and listen to music at the same time, but it is just too hard for me to focus. I'll end up listening to the music instead of concentrating on the book
