I don't usually listen to music when I'm reading fictions. Some books are that good that I literally get lost into it and I totally reject my surroundings. However, when I'm reading academic-related ones, I tune in to soft acoustic genre or classical piano music to help me focus. Sometimes, I listen to pop too but avoid rock and rap music.
"Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night."

I don't listen to music while reading. I know for some it works. For me, I prefer no music. If I had a choice though, probably classical. Or depending on the book maybe something from a soundtrack, like Gladiator or Last of the Mohicans.

I lean to more instrumental music when reading though sometimes some songs aren't too distracting. I usually enjoy hearing the violin and piano playing in the background.

It would definitely depend on the genre but Sigur Ros would be my choice. Deep, moody & not too intrusive as background music.

If I do listen to something, its usually lyric-less, so I can focus on words more. I like background sounds and ambience more. If it has lyrics, I sometimes mix words I hear versus what I read.

I don't listen to music when I'm reading as it only serves as a distraction.

I never listen to music when I'm reading fiction. When it is non-fiction and a litttle bit dull but still neccessary to to be read, I listen to classical music or instrumental to help me concentrate

I love music from Blake Neely. He mainly composes beautiful music for television shows. When I read a book this is what I put on

Definitely instrumental songs! The lyrics really interfere with the reading.

Usually classical, or something that won't distract me and take away from my concentration. Either that, or the music mix on my laptop.
