I'm Spending My Christmas With Jesus This Year ~ Wanda Benck

Post by Gravy »

Just thought people would enjoy this...
I was just going to link to the official version...but could't find it...

I'm Spending My Christmas With Jesus This Year

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below, with tiny lights like Heaven's stars reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular please wipe away that tear,
for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
but the sound of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you of the joy their voices bring
for it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart.

I can't tell you of the splendor or the peace here in this place
Can you just imagine Christmas with our Savior face to face?

I'll ask Him to lift your spirit as I tell Him of your love
so then pray for one another as you lift your eyes above.

Please let your hearts be joyful and let your spirit sing
for I am spending Christmas in Heaven, and I’m walking with the King.

~ Wanda Bencke

I've loved this for some time.
So what do you think of it?

I love that! This Christmas season is expecially hard for my family and me. My dad went to heaven on December 28, 2013. At least we still got to spend Christmas with him last year. It was hard to even put up a tree this year. I was very much a Daddy's girl growing up and we were in busy together for awhile which meant Christmas was a hectic time of year.

The song that I always enjoy hearing is: If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away. I do wish I could go for the day, but I know I would never want to come back to Earth. The song "I Can Only Imagine" means alot to me too.

I'm so glad people enjoy this poem as much as I do.
I've loved it since finding it several years ago now.
Very comforting.
