Music You Sleep To?

Post by lovelyreader21 »

Do you find that music helps you sleep? If so, what styles of music do you listen to while trying to sleep? I'm interested to hear, because I find both rock music and slower melodies to be how I generally get myself to bed.

Screamo. The screaming relaxes me depending on the type of screamer. A more low pitched screamer is more relaxing to me.

When I can't sleep I always like to listen to soft music,(not the rock kind of soft), but music that sound like lullabies for older people.

Good choice!

If I like a singer I can sleep to them. It's just that simple.

But some of my favs would be...

H.I.M.
The Rasmus
My Chemical Romance
Mumford & Sons
Hunter Hayes
Savage Garden
Shawn Mullins

.....that's just a start...I know I'm forgetting somethig great.

That makes sense! I can get to sleep with just about any musician that I would like in the daytime as well. With the exception of a few songs; in terms of My Chem, usually I start getting too into the music to fall asleep to it. Not a bad thing, just a bit unfortunate for falling asleep.

Ville Valo of H.I.M. is one of the best...his voice just.....so relaxing.

I downloaded an app for my phone that plays delta wave music. Delta waves, as I'm sure lots of you already know, are brain waves that have been associated with deep sleep in studies. Supposedly this music helps your brain to produce delta waves to help you fall asleep. I'm not exactly sure how the music produces delta waves, but I've read that is has something to do with the beat, and so far it has worked pretty well for me.

I've got my little tot hooked on sleeping to music. It was the best way for him to fall asleep on his own without crying. I'd much rather hear him humming along until he falls asleep then screaming as if he's been abandoned. He'll listen to the kid stuff- the music that would keep me awake ALL NIGHT. I prefer contemporary christian music or classical.
